How to Add Hardware to Cabinets

Cabinet hardware replacement is sometimes required due to wear and tear. Multiple types and styles of hardware are available. If installing new cabinets you may need to buy hardware separately. Does this Spark an idea?

      Mark and measure the placement of the knobs on all of the cabinet doors to your specific needs. Drill a hole into the cabinet doors where you had marked them. Use a drill bit the same size as the screw, and drill the holes from the front of the cabinet doors to the back.

      Place the screws in the back of the cabinet doors where you drilled the holes. Screw the handles onto the end of the screws. Tighten them down with the Phillips screwdriver.

      Mark placement for the hinges on the back side of the doors approximately 3 inches from the bottom and the top. Drill pilot holes and screw the hinges into place for all of the doors.

      Measure, mark drill pilot holes into the cabinet frame. Have a helper hold the cabinet doors in place. Screw the hinges into the cabinet frame.
