How to Paste Crepe Paper on Cardboard
Crepe paper is actually a form of tissue paper that has been formed to have gathers. It is used to decorate homes and other locations for parties. It can also be used in many different craft projects. One craft project that utilizes crepe paper is making homemade piñatas. If you need to glue your crepe paper to cardboard to create a decoration or a piñata, you need to know the best way to go about it.
Things You'll Need
- White glue
- Plastic storage container
- Small paintbrush
- Crepe paper
- Cardboard

Pour glue into a small disposable plastic container.

Set the lid on the plastic container lightly. Do not close it. You want some air to reach the glue.

Leave the glue to thicken for four to five days. Stir the glue each day with a paintbrush. Once the consistency of the glue becomes thick, but not dried out, it is ready to use.

Paint the glue onto your crepe paper with your paintbrush. The glue only needs to go the side you plan on sticking to the cardboard.

Stick the crepe paper on the cardboard following the design that you have planned.

Tips & Warnings
If you are applying more than one layer of crepe paper to your cardboard, you must let each layer dry completely before adding the next.
If you don't thicken your glue first, it will be so wet that the color of the crepe papers will bleed together. The crepe paper will also absorb most of the wet glue such that when it dries, it won't stick to the cardboard.
