How to Reply to a Tweet on Twitter
The social networking service, Twitter, provides a quick way for people to connect with friends and family through "tweets." Tweets tell your followers or friends what you are doing. Through tweets, you are able to send status updates, links, pictures and videos.

Replying Via Computer

Log in into your Twitter account. By logging in, this will bring you to your Twitter home page.

Access the tweet in which you would like to reply to. You can access the tweet that you are replying to by selecting it from your homepage or by going to the follower's page that contains the tweet you would like to reply to. A follower is a person that is receiving your tweets on their homepage.

Click on "Reply" located at the bottom of the tweet you are replying to. This will copy the person's username to your "What's Happening" box so that you can reply.

Write your reply. Your reply is limited to 140 characters. Click "Update."
Reply Via Cell Phone

Log in into your Twitter account through a computer or your phone if you have Internet access. Click on "Settings," and select "Mobile.

Add your cell phone number to activate your cell phone so that you can start replying to tweets via text messaging and click "Save." A message will be sent to your phone from Twitter so that you will know that you have successfully activated your phone.

Access your text messaging on your phone. In the "Send" box on your cell phone, type in 40404. This is the number you use to send and reply to messages and tweets on Twitter.

In the "Message" box on your cell phone, type out the username for the person in which you would like to send a reply to, and then write your message. Make sure to have the "@" sign in front of the username, before you send your message.
Example: To: 40404 Message: @Twitter Thanks for helping me with the text messaging setup.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a Twitter account, simple visit the Twitter website and sign up. A valid email address is needed to sign up.
Some phones have applications for Twitter. With these applications, you would follow the same instructions for replying via computer.
Twitter does not charge for texting to Twitter, but you should check with your service provider to make sure no additional charges will be charged to your cell phone bill.
