How to Disable Your HTTP Proxy
An HTTP proxy is used on some networks to funnel web traffic. The HTTP proxy server settings instruct a web browser to use a specific server when trying to access the Internet. The proxy server helps the network administrator direct Internet traffic, reduce bandwidth overhead and filter out unwanted website access. If you've moved the computer or the proxy server is no longer used, you need to disable it from the web browser. You can do this in your Internet Explorer or Firefox settings.
