How to Sell Your College Textbooks On eBay

How to Sell Your College Textbooks On eBay thumbnail
College textbooks could be worth more money if they are sold on eBay.

Most college bookstores buy textbooks back from students at the end of every semester. However, the price may not be what the student can get if she sells the same book on eBay. The risk with eBay is there may be a lot of sellers for popular books, and no buyers for unpopular books. The books should be lightly used.

Instructions

    • 1

Keep the textbook as clean as possible throughout the semester. The better looking the book is, the more appealing it will be in the eBay ad.

    • 2

Photograph the book in front of a solid background. Prepare an ad based on eBay's formats that includes the uploaded photo, the isbn number of the book, and a description of its condition.

    • 3

Check similar books to set a price. Ask for the highest price possible, but it has to be reasonable. If the same book is going for $40 from other sellers, and your book is in better condition, ask for $45. If the books do not appear to be selling at the average price, ask for a lower price. Use eBay's "Sell It" feature to check current prices and availability for textbooks.

Follow the eBay steps to sell and ship the book. Most eBay buyers have a PayPal account to accept payments. You must decide how to ship the book, but the book must be shipped promptly to the buyer. EBay offers a print and pay shipping label service that can be accessed through a computer.

Tips & Warnings
