2. Return the food stamp (SNAP) application form to your local DSS office. You can find your nearest DSS office by going to the following web address:

   Or call them at: 1-800-392-1261

   Be sure to be as accurate as possible on your food stamp application.

3. Once your application is approved, you will receive your SNAP benefit card. It will work almost like a debit card (but for food stamps). Be sure to make sure it is working by purchasing a small quantity of food with it.
