How to Make Your Car Show Better
Car shows are events held across the country in which participants enter their cars and prizes are given out based on who has the best looking or most customized car. These events are often held for the whole family, and they often have connected events and entertainment to make them successful year after year. If your car show is struggling, or you have to compete against larger, more well-known shows, there are a few things you can do to make your car show better.

1
Choose a specialization, or niche, for your car show. This typically means gearing your show toward a certain type of car, such as old-school cars or SUVs. A niche will not only allow you to keep the show more organized, but also it will attract a specific following and allow you to focus your marketing and advertising strategies on one particular audience.

2
Team up with an annual city or community event. For example, if your city has an annual chili cook off, you can talk with the management in charge of that event to see if you can hold the car show at the same venue. In doing so, you will draw people who may be interested in both events, thereby raising attendance figures and increasing the amount of money each organization makes.

3
Hire entertainment if you don't want to run your car show in connection with another event. Car shows by themselves no longer entertain crowds as they did in years past; today, attendees expect to have something else to do while they're waiting around for the cars to be judged. You can hire a local band, dancers from your local college or professional sports team, a DJ to play music, and/or food vendors.

4
Gain steady sponsors for your car show--more money to put into the car show equals better prizes and better entertainment. If you can get monetary donations, use them to book a better venue and secure more quality entertainment. If you can secure product (in-kind) donations, you can give them out as prizes to car show participants or as gifts to attendees and special guests.

5
Publicize your car show. Handing out fliers is absolutely essential, but there are many more things you can do. For example, you can send out press releases or come up with a contest to attract attendees. If you have no public relations experience you may want to hire an independent publicist or boutique public relations firm. Your publicist may even be able to secure appearances from local or well-known celebrities if they have established connections in the entertainment industry.

6
Give to a charitable cause important in your community. Many car shows do this by publicly pledging a certain percentage of profits to a specific cause. Not only is this good for public relations, but you will also likely attract more attendees since people tend to support events in which some of their money will go toward a philanthropic cause.
