How to Move a Distribution List From Contacts to an Email
Managing distribution lists is an important part of information management. If you regularly handle contacts collected in your email, there are some helpful features for sending out announcements and marketing materials in most email programs. Distribution lists are a collection of contacts generally used for individuals with a common interest or goal. For example, a Doberman Pinscher club might have a distribution list for puppy owners to share valuable information. You just have to follow a few steps to create an email from a distribution list with email software.

Create a new email message by clicking "File > New > Mail Message" from the menu. You may also click the "New" icon in the toolbar.

Click the "To" button in the email message. Select the existing distribution list you would like to email.

Select the "BCC" button. This is important to minimize "Reply to all" concerns and to hide email addresses from recipients.

Type your email address in the "To" field and click "OK." Selecting "OK" will return you to your email message. Enter your subject line and message.

Click "Send" to send your email. Your email message will got out to your distribution list. The contacts will not see the email addresses of other recipients and you will receive a copy in your inbox.
