How to Create a Strategic Business Plan Template
Business plans are essential to ensuring the progress and success of any business. In order to add an extra drive to your goals as a business owner, a strategic business plan template can be utilized to hold you even more accountable to your goals. When writing a strategic business plan, keep in mind that it is a template for setting management goals, not a proposal for investors or a research report.

1
Review your investor business plan paying close attention to the goals for each year and the future projections.
-
2
Write out the practical methods for reaching each of those goals. Include concrete applications for each of these goals. For example, if your projection for the first year is expanding advertising, then write out the specific areas of advertising that will most benefit your company such as online, door-to-door and word of mouth.
-
-
3
Identify specific priorities that will help you reach your goals. For example with the goal in the previous section, set specific dates and expectations for your advertising campaign, such as hosting a booth at a related expo that year.
-
4
Organize your new fleshed out plan by first outlining the entire plan, making sure to include the following sections: overall managerial vision, annual goals and checkpoints and profit and loss estimates.
-
5
Space out each goal in the business plan template so that you can return to the template and fill in each goal as it is met with the specifics of how it was accomplished and how much was spent in the process of reaching that goal.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to keep your goals realistic. Remember that as a small business owner, you only need a certain amount of clients per month to reach your financial goals, so focus on attaining that number consistently.
