Fried rice comes in a variety of flavors, from plain to shrimp to egg. While soy sauce is a popular condiment to add to the rice, another way to spice it up is to use garlic when cooking the rice. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 cups Japanese white rice
  • 4 scrambled eggs
  • 3/4 cups soy sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • Cooking oil
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Frying pan
  • Pot

Instructions

      Boil your rice until done. This recipe tastes best with freshly cooked rice as opposed to refrigerated rice.

      Scramble the eggs and heat the pan with a layer of oil. Mince and finely chop the garlic.

      Pour the garlic into the pan and start to brown it. Before the garlic gets brown, add the rice and scrambled eggs and mix thoroughly. Pour the soy sauce evenly and mix until all of the rice is covered. Don't overdo the sauce, however. You want it to have the flavor of the soy sauce but not be overly saturated.

      Keep frying until all ingredients are mixed well. Taste. If desired, you can add some garlic powder and mix again.
