Use picture frames to display your Boy Scout patch collection.

Boy Scouting, a division of Boy Scouts of America, is a youth organization for boys aged 10 through 17. According to Boy Scouts of America, "the program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness." Boys have many opportunities to earn patches. Sometimes patches or collections of patches are even traded. You can display some of the patches that you or your son earned as a Boy Scout. One way of displaying patches is in picture frames.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine how you want to arrange your patches. If you use 8- by 10-inch frames, you can probably fit about six patches in each frame, depending on the patch sizes. If you have more patches than will fit in one frame, you could group them together the way you like: by year obtained, by patch type or any other way that makes sense to you.

    • 2

Remove the backs from the picture frames. Frames come apart in different ways, but it should be readily apparent by looking at your frames how to remove the backs.

    • 3

Cut paper or fabric in your color choice to match the size of the frame back that you removed. You can use the frame back to trace the correct size onto your paper or fabric.

    • 4

Place the frame back on a flat surface with the inside part facing up, and put the paper or fabric on top of that. The paper or fabric will become the background for your patches.

    • 5

Put your patches on top of the paper or fabric in the arrangement that you previously determined. You may want to use double-stick tape to keep the patches in place. This will make it easier to keep them in place while you put the frames back together.

    • 6

Return the backs into the frames and secure them. Be sure to keep the paper or fabric with your patches in place as you put the frames back together.

    • 7

Display your frame or frames on a fireplace mantel, dresser or desk. If you have several frames, you could weave a pine garland or some other decoration among them.
