How to Send a Big File or Folder Via Email
Sometimes you need to send a big file or folder that is bigger than the limit of normal email such as Yahoo Mail, Gmail or even corporate email. The largest attachment size allowed by most email does not exceed 20 MB. Even if you are one of the lucky few with a larger attachment range, your email recipient may not be, in which case the email will bounce. Fortunately, there are several alternatives for sending a large file to someone over the Internet.

Upload your file to an FTP server. You may have access to an FTP server via your company or even using your personal website. Make the file publicly accessible if it doesn't contain sensitive information, or create a guest login for the recipient if the file requires security.

Use a service such as YouSendIt. You upload the file on the YouSendIt website and are provided with a link and the option to send the link to one or more recipients. YouSendIt includes a free plan for occasional users with a 50 MB per file limit and a 2 GB total storage limit.
