How to Open an OFT Form in Microsoft Office 2007

The OFT file extension belongs to the Microsoft Outlook program. In previous versions of Outlook, you were able to simply double-click an OFT file to open it automatically in Outlook. However, in 2003, Microsoft implemented an update in its Office suite, including the Outlook program, that made it impossible to simply double-click the file; this update applies to Outlook 2007 as well. To open an OFT file in Outlook 2007, you have to go through a few more steps to finally view the template.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007 and allow the program to load.

2. Click on "New" and a drop-down menu will appear; select "Choose From." This will bring up a box with multiple choices.

3. Select "User Template in File System" in the drop-down box labeled "Look In." Click the "Browse" button to search for the OFT file.

4. Locate the OFT file and click "Open."
