How to Save a Document in Word Perfect

It's important to save a document if you want to retain its contents. You can copy the contents of another document and paste them into WordPerfect. The default format for WordPerfect files is WPD, but you can change the default file extension when you save a file. Choosing another format can be beneficial if you're sharing the file with someone who doesn't have WordPerfect or if you'll eventually use the file outside of WordPerfect.

Instructions

    • 1

      Go to WordPerfect.

    • 2

Create the document you want to save. To copy contents from another document, select the information you need, then select "Edit" and "Paste" to paste it on your page.

    • 3

Save the document by clicking on "File" and "Save" and name your file. To change the file type for your document, click on the "File type" drop-down list and the file option you want. You can save your document with the file extension of your choice, such as HTML, DOC or RTF. Click on "Save" when you are finished.

    • 4

Save an existing document with a different name by clicking on "File" and "Save As." Then name the file and click on "Save."
