1
Measure and record your waist size as well as the height from your waistline to 2 inches above the bottom hem of your wedding dress.
-
2
Cut two pieces of fabric that are equal to 1 inch longer than half of your waist size, and 2 inches longer than the measurement from your waistline to 2 inches above the bottom hem of your wedding dress.
-
-
3
Lay the two pieces of fabric down on top of each other, satin side facing in. Measure 1/2 inch from the edge on the two long sides of the fabric and place pins through the fabric to hold the pieces together. Using the sewing machine, sew along the pins, removing all pins once both sides have been sewn.
-
4
Fold the top of the fabric down 1 inch and hold in place using pins to create a top hem. Slide the elastic material through the top hem and cut off any excess that sticks out. Sew along the pins, encasing the elastic in the top hem.
-
5
Fold the bottom of the fabric up and hold in place with pins to create a bottom hem. Sew a hem along the pins.
-
6
Turn the slip right-side out so that the satin is now facing out. Try on the slip to ensure that it fits properly.

Tips & Warnings
If you are having an outdoor wedding on a hot day, you may choose to use lightweight cotton for the slip instead of satin.
Use a lightweight needle when sewing satin so that it does not create large holes in the fabric.
