1
Wrap one piece of satin cloth around a Styrofoam ball. The cloth should be big enough to bunch together at the bottom of the ball. Tie the cloth together with a piece of one-eighth inch ribbon.
-
2
Glue an end of a quarter-inch ribbon beneath the gather point of the cloth. Wrap the ribbon from the bottom to the top of the ball. Glue the ribbon to the top of the ball with a small amount of hot glue to keep it firmly in place. Bring the ribbon around to the bottom of the ball. Secure with glue beneath the gathered end of the cloth.

Continue to wrap the remaining five quarter-inch ribbons as you wrapped the first strand. Space the ribbons evenly around the ball. Once the quarter-inch ribbons are in place, attach the eighth-inch ribbon either down the middle of each secured ribbon or centered between each larger ribbon. Attach as you did the larger strands.

Make a loop with a strand of quarter-inch ribbon. Glue the loop to the top of the ornament. Push a tassel into the center of the gathered area of the cloth. Glue in place. Hang your Christmas tassel from your Christmas tree or hang from a Christmas wreath.
