How to Export Inbox From Gmail to Outlook Express

Open Outlook Express and click on the "Tools" button. Within the "Tools" menu, select "E-mail Accounts," click on the "Add a New E-mail Account" option and then click on the "Next" button.

Click the option that reads "POP3," and then click the "Next" button. A details box with several fields will open. Fill out the "Your Name" and "E-mail" fields, placing your email username ending with "@gmail.com" in the "E-mail" field.

Type your Gmail address in the "User Name" field. Fill out the "Password" field and click the "Remember Password" option.

Fill out the "Incoming Mail Server (pop3)" field with the following phrase: "pop.gmail.com." Then, type the words "smtp.Gmail.com" in the "Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT)" field. Next, select the "More Settings" option.

Select the "General" tab. In the "Mail Account" field, type the word "Gmail." Next, open the "Outgoing Server" tab.

Chose the "My Outgoing Server" option from the "Outgoing Server" options. Then, select the "Use Same Settings as My Incoming Server" option. Open the "Advanced" tab.

Check the "This Server Requires and Encrypted Connection (SSL)" boxes for the "Incoming Server" and the "Outgoing Server" fields. Next, type "465" in the "Outgoing Server Port Number" field. When you are finished, click the "OK," "Next," and then "Done" buttons, in that order. You have now linked your Outlook Express program with your Gmail account.
