How to Delete an Objects Worksheet in Excel Download
A single Microsoft Excel file can contain many spreadsheets. Each spreadsheet, called a "worksheet," is listed at the bottom of the Excel window via a tabular display. Clicking on any tab switches the Excel window to that particular worksheet. New worksheets may be added at any time, and others may be deleted. The worksheets can have any name associated with their respective tab labels. If you download an Excel file with an "Objects" worksheet noted on one of the tabs, this worksheet is easily deleted.
Instructions
-
-
1
Double-click the Microsoft Excel file you downloaded. The file will open in the Excel program window.
-
2
Locate the "Objects" worksheet. This will be presented as a tab at the bottom of the Excel window. The tab will contain a clear label called "Objects". A worksheet labeled "Objects" may contain a variety of different content, depending on the intended use of the Excel file. Microsoft uses the "Objects" term to refer to any integrated content based on another Office application. The "Objects" worksheet could thus contain Microsoft Word text, or a PowerPoint presentation, displayed within the Excel environment. This could contrast other worksheets which contain conventional Excel-only data.

Tips & Warnings
If the Excel file contains multiple worksheets, it is possible the "Objects" worksheet is not visible. Click the right arrow button in controller field to the left of the worksheet tabs area. Each click of this button will move to the next invisible worksheet. Proceed until the "Objects" worksheet is found.
In Excel 2007, it is also possible to delete the "Objects" worksheet using the ribbon tool bar at the top of the Excel window. After the "Objects" worksheet is selected, locate the "Home" tab on the tool bar. In the "Cells" section, click the arrow next to the "Delete" option. A small menu will appear. Choose the "Delete Sheet" command from this menu.
Deleting a worksheet permanently removes that spreadsheet and all of its data and calculations from the Excel file. It is wise to save a backup of the Excel spreadsheet in the event that you later realize the "Objects" worksheet is necessary.
