How to Put Logos on Photographs

Copyrighting a photo is a great way for protection, but you can add even more protection and insurance through photos by placing a logo on the photo. A good logo is translucent and still allows the viewer to see the complete image without the logo being distracting or hindering. An advanced photo program like Adobe Photoshop allows you to easily add logos to photos and save a logo template that can be added and adjusted easily for each photo.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your photo in the photo editing software. Crop the photo down to the logo as close as possible.

    • 2

Use a paint bucket tool or eraser tool to turn any white space on the logo into translucent space. A translucent background will have a checkered pattern so that you know it is clear.

    • 3

Add more depth to the logo by added outer glows, drop shadows and inner glows. Playing around with these settings will yield different results that can really make the logo look professional and jump out on the screen.

    • 4

Open the photograph that you want to add a logo to. Create a new layer on the photograph so that the logo will not change and render anything different on the actual photo.

    • 5

Highlight and copy the logo file. Paste it into the photograph.

    • 6

Drag the logo to the bottom right-hand corner of the photograph. Re-size the logo so that it fits snugly in the corner without taking up too much of the picture.

    • 7

Keep the logo in the center of the picture if you are concerned about people simply cropping the logo out of the photo. Rotate the logo at an angle so it has more of a stylish design.

    • 8

Change the opacity of the logo to 30 percent. This keeps it visible while having the contents behind the photo stand out as well.

    • 9

Add a border if you do not want the logo to cover any portion of the photo. A black or white border can add style to a photo, and the logo will still be intact.

    • 10

Save the photo as a new file so that the original photo is still available. Save the logo as a separate file as well for quick access and use in future photos.
