How to Make a Papaya Martini

A Papaya Martini is a simple drink that is ideal for summer sipping. Great for backyard barbecues and pool parties, the Papaya Martini can make you feel like you are on a tropical beach in just one sip. This recipe makes two Papaya Martinis, but you can double or triple the recipe based on your needs. Things You'll Need

  • 3 oz. vodka
  • 8 oz. papaya nectar
  • 2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups peeled fresh papaya
  • 8 mint leaves
  • Blender
  • 2 highball or Collins glasses
  • Crushed ice
  • Lime wheels, for garnish

Instructions

      Combine the vodka, papaya nectar, fresh lime juice, peeled fresh papaya and mint leaves in a blender.

      Cover the blender and process on high speed for 30 to 45 seconds or until the mixture is smooth and completely liquefied.

      Fill two highball or Collins glasses with crushed ice and pour the contents of the blender into the glasses. Garnish each glass with a lime wheel and serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a fruitier variation, use orange vodka. Alternately, use passion fruit juice instead of the papaya nectar for a more complex cocktail.

  • For a sweet variation, wet the rims of the cocktail glasses with a cut lime and dip them into a plate of superfine sugar before filling.
