How to Make Earrings for Men

Many men wear one, two or more earrings as a fashion statement. They can be in the form of studs, studs with objects attached or beaded dangling earrings. Spacer beads are often used in beaded earrings; they are just tiny metallic beads to add space between the more decorative colored beads.

Things You'll Need

• 1 or 2 headpins
• 2 colored beads, different sizes
• 3 spacer beads
• Round-nose pliers
• 1 or 2 ear wires

Instructions

1. Turn head pin so that the flat head is at the bottom, perpendicular to the ground.

2. Add 1 small spacer bead, 1 large bead, another spacer bead, a smaller bead and a final spacer bead.

3. Take the round-nose pliers and bend the top of the wire at a 90-degree angle, flush to the last spacer bead.

4. Bend the 90-degree wire into a loop, passing it through the eye hole in the bottom of the ear wire.

Tips & Warnings

• Lengthen your earrings by adding charms to the bottom of the beaded strand.

• Use high-quality gold or silver ear wires or surgical steel to prevent skin infections. Clean them frequently with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball.
