Consider whether a career in auto repair is for you. Cars have come a long way from simple engines that could be fixed with a few turns of the wrench. Today's cars and trucks have complex electronics that require training and great care to service. Opportunities should be very good for those who complete postsecondary automotive training programs. Those without formal automotive training are likely to face competition for entry-level jobs. That said, once you demonstrate your skills, you could become a hot commodity.
