Instructions

    • 1

Check if the tilt rod is disconnected from the tilt mechanism in the headrail. Remove the blinds from the window. Pop the end caps off the headrail with a flat screwdriver. Locate the long metal rod in the headrail and the mechanism that is connected to the cords. Push the tilt rod back into the mechanism housing. Put the end caps back on. Place the blinds back above the window.

Try another method to fix the blinds if the above instructions did not work. Twist the blind's tilt wand counterclockwise if blinds will not tilt and are closed in the down position. Simultaneously, pull on the back string of the ladders that hold the slats.

    • 3

Turn the wand tilt in a clockwise position at the same time you are pulling on the back string of the ladders if the blinds are closed in an upward angle.

    • 4

Replace the wand tilt if the blinds still will not tilt after trying these methods. Remove the metal piece or end stiffener out of the head rail on the same side as the tilt wand.

    • 5

Take out the C-clamp that is connected to the metal rod. Pull the tilt rod from the wand tilter. Use a flat screwdriver to pry open the head rail to take out the wand. Grab the wand tilter with needle-nose pliers and pull it out. Shove the wand tilter back into the grooves, and it should snap into place. Put the rod, C-clamps and end stiffeners back into place.

Hang the blinds back on the wall. Use the tilt wand to make sure it operates correctly.
