1
Remove the shoelaces from the shoes if they are not already off. Paint the entire shoelace pink or purple with fabric paint, and allow it to dry. Once dry, lace it onto the shoe, and leave the ends loose.
-
2
Cut two small 1 x 1-inch strips of tulle. Wrap the strips of tulle around the shoelace approximately 1 to 2 inches from each end of the lace, and glue them in place. This should look like a ballet tutu.

-
3
Paint the tips of the shoelaces a darker color; this will represent the ballet shoes. Draw two dots and a smile above the tutu as a face.
-
4
Repeat the entire process with the other lace.

5
Remove the shoelaces from the shoes if they are not already off. Paint the entire shoelace with a favorite baseball or soccer team's colors, and allow it to dry. Once dry, lace it onto the shoe, and leave the ends loose.
-
6
Paint eight to 10 cotton balls or white buttons in the design of a soccer ball or baseball. A baseball will have red half circles on the top and bottom, and a soccer ball will be black and white checkered.
-
7
Glue the cotton balls or sew the buttons onto the last 2 to 3 inches of the shoelaces to keep the decorations from interfering with the tying of the shoes. Allow the glue to dry completely before wearing.
-
8
Repeat the entire process with the other lace.
