You need to apply proper cleansing techniques to keep a shiny finish on your crystal necklace. Crystals are delicate stones that require special attention in order to maintain their sparkle and luster.

Basic Cleaning

Gently wipe the crystal necklace with a soft cotton towel or cloth. Make sure the cloth is free from lint.

Dust off the crevices in the necklace with a clean, dry, soft-bristled paintbrush.

Fill a large bowl with hot water. Add two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid and stir well with a spoon until suds form.

Place crystal necklace in bowl and allow to sit for three to five minutes.

Soak a soft-bristled toothbrush in the soap and water solution for two minutes. Use an old toothbrush that is broken in to prevent abrasion when cleaning.

Remove toothbrush and necklace from the bowl. Gently cleanse the necklace with the toothbrush. Use soft but firm strokes to swipe the necklace in one direction.

Dump the soapy water out and fill the bowl with fresh, hot water. Add two tablespoons of vinegar to the water. Soak the crystal necklace in the water and vinegar solution for one minute or until no soap remains.

Dry the necklace with paper towel. Gently dab the paper towel over the necklace. Refrain from rubbing or applying pressure to the necklace.

Place the crystal necklace on a paper towel to dry. Allow to sit for 15 minutes or until dried completely.
