1
Purchase any artificial flower that you like. These can be purchased from any craft store. The best flowers to use are ones where the petals lay flat (for example, artificial roses do not work very well because they stick out too far and will droop down).
-
2
Cut off the plastic stem with a pair of scissors. Cut the stem as close to the base of the flower as possible to have a flatter surface to work with.

-
3
Run a line of fabric glue along the pin base. Pin bases can be purchased at a crafts store and will come in an array of colors. A common pin base is one with a butterfly clasp, which has a hidden closure.
-
4
Press the flower to the pin base. Hold the flower to the base for 15 seconds to ensure that the flower adheres to the base.
-
5
Apply a small amount of glue to a toothpick. Rub the glue onto each petal (you can apply glue to the entire petal, just the middle of the petal, or the bottom half of the petal).
-
6
Hold the brooch over a paper plate and lightly pour the sparkles right onto each petal. Ensure that every petal gets a good coating of sparkles.
-
7
Turn the brooch upside down and shake it gently onto the paper plate to remove any loose sparkles. Fold the plate slightly in half and pour the leftover sparkles back into their container.
-
8
Stick the pin through your shirt and close the pin's clasp.
