Select a spot to place the glass candle holder. You can hang a glass candle holder indoors or outdoors, off the ceiling, wall or a hanging rack. Make sure the area is free of clutter, such as drapes, paper, curtains, art work or anything flammable and that the area is out of reach of children and pets.

Fasten the wires. Glass candle holders can be made out of glass jars such as an old jam jar. Fasten a heavy wire, such as a wire hanger, around the rim of the jar, making sure to fasten the wire tightly. Cut another piece of wire long enough to hang the candle holder with and wrap the ends around the wire wrapped around the rim. Use pliers to manipulate the wires.

Insert the candle. Line the jar with sea salt or sand and place a candle into the jar.

Hang the glass candle holder. Screw a wall anchor into a wooden stud in the wall. A common type of wall anchor is a picture hook. Place the hook against the wall, position the nail at a slanted angle and hammer it in. Picture wall anchors vary in the amount of weight they can hold, so for a heavier glass candle holder, use a larger wall anchor. The weight it carries is listed on the packaging.
