1
Spread the newspaper in a well ventilated area and put on the gloves, facial mask, and goggles. Place the award on the newspaper.
-
2
Follow the instructions that came with the mold-making compound in order to make your mold. Different types of compound call for different procedures, but all will be based around the award you already have. Mold making materials are often found in the same section of the craft store as acrylic resin.

3
Let the mold harden, then remove the award from the depression and sprinkle the mold with talc powder. The powder will make it easier to remove your copy when you are done.
-
4
Get out your liquid acrylic kit. These kits usually include two bottles of chemicals. Pour liquid from one of the bottles into a plastic cup.
-
5
Pour an equal amount of liquid from the second bottle into a separate cup.
-
6
Pour the liquid from the two cups into a third cup. Stir this for one minute using a Popsicle stick.
-
7
Pour the combined liquid into the mold. Let it harden. The time required for this depends on the resin. Check the packaging for an accurate number.
-
8
When the acrylic resin is hard, pop the piece out of the mold.
-
9
Paint the piece gold, silver, or bronze using a can of spray paint.
