Water retention, bloating, and swelling can be serious problems. If these symptoms are bothering you there are simple steps to take to reduce the amount of water that your body is storing.

Consult your doctor. Only your doctor can determine if your swelling is a symptom of a serious problem.

Lower salt intake. Things to avoid are processed foods, lunch meats, potato chips. Check the sodium content on all foods to avoid retaining water.

Cut back on sugar and caffeine as well, as these may contribute to your swelling and bloating.

There are many foods that are natural diuretics. Eat lots of apples, grapes, strawberries, dandelion greens, parsley, beets, asparagus. Most foods that grow in the spring help with swelling.
