How to Avoid Cancellation Fees With Sprint

If you're a Sprint customer and are upgrading your cell phone or moving and don't want to keep your Sprint service, you can cancel it. Instructions

2. Wait for Sprint to make a change to your contract if you are not a month-to-month customer. The company will notify you via postal mail when a change is made. The change can be for anything, such as a new fee for text messaging or a general service charge.

3. Call Sprint toll-free at [phone] within 30 days of the effective date of the contract change.

4. Tell the Sprint customer service representative that you "wish to cancel services because of a material change to the agreement that [Sprint has] made," per the Sprint terms of service. State that you wish to cancel your Sprint contract without paying an early termination fee.

• Sprint charges up to $200 for early termination of your Sprint contract.
