How to Clean Combat Boots
Combat boots protect the wearer's feet from water, mud, dirt and a number of other environmental hazards and dangers. However, these boots are also put through a lot of action and they have to stand up to a lot of abuse. So it's a good idea to periodically give your combat boots a thorough cleaning to make sure that they last as long as possible. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the worst of the dirt with a stiff brush. Most of the hard cleaning uses the smaller tools, so be sure to give the boots a good brushing with the stiff bristles first if there are bigger areas of dirt or grime on them.
-
2
Remove the rest of the dirt with a sponge. Dampen the sponge (don't soak it) and then scrub the remaining dirt and mud from your combat boots. Small amounts of water won't hurt leather, but be careful that you don't use too much. Use saddle soap if there's a lot of dirt to clean, but be sure to wash all of the soap off.

3
Clean the cracks and crevices. Using your old toothbrush, wipe dirt out of the remaining seams, especially down near the welt (where the stitches of the boot can be seen joined to the sole).
-
4
Condition the boots. Using leather oil or leather conditioner will put essential oils back into the leather and stop it from cracking and/or drying out over time.
