These cracks also allow moisture to get in between them, which further destabilizes the concrete or stone floor. Repairs should be made sooner than later and are easy to do. Instructions

    • 1

Put on all protective gear. Cover any open overhead spaces with plastic sheeting or put up a canopy for any wet-weather repairs.

    • 2

Pry out all loose debris with a large screwdriver. Use a brush to get all the smaller chunks of loose stone or concrete material out of the crack area

    • 3

Purchase a concrete repair mix. This product is available at your local home improvement center. Follow the instructions on the bag for the proper ratio of water and dry mix. Use a screw gun and paint mix paddle to mix the product in a small bucket.

    • 4

Mix the product until the consistency is like soft mud. If the mixture is too dry, it will just crumble in your hands. If it is too wet, it will be runny. Neither dry or wet mixtures will set up correctly. Add water or more dry mix to make sure you get the right consistency.

    • 5

Apply the mixture to the crack area, using a concrete trowel. Apply several light layers, overlapping as you go. Force the mixture all the way down into the crack to not allow any air pockets to form. Wipe excess mixture away with a damp concrete sponge.

    • 6

Smooth out the finish, using a finishing concrete trowel. Let dry overnight or for at least 12 hours before using.
