How to Transfer an Automobile Title

When you sell or give away a vehicle that you own you have to transfer the title as well. A title transfer is a fairly simple process. If you are selling the vehicle, then you only need the actual automobile title to do the transfer. When you gift or sell the vehicle for an amount far less than its value, you have to fill out additional paperwork for the automobile title transfer. Transferring an automobile title does require that you, or the person you are transferring it to, pay a fee to your state's department of motor vehicles.
