How to Fix the Color on Inkjet Print CD Labels

When crafting your own CD, you can create a label for the disc using your computer's inkjet printer. A variety of different programs provide the ability to design a CD label by printing a design for the disc via the printer. However, you may find the color coming from the printer is not matching what you want with your design. If this is the case, you need to know how to address this issue.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert new ink cartridges into your printer. If the ink is running low, you may find the colors are not as pristine as you expect. Simply open the front lid on the printer, remove the older cartridge and insert the new cartridge.

    • 2

Print off a test sheet using standard printer paper. You can use this to compare the ink being printed with your computer monitor. Most computer monitors have slightly different settings, which result in a slightly different color standard. Because of this, your image may appear darker or lighter than you anticipated.

Adjust the colors after looking at your test print. If your blue isn't dark enough, go back into your CD label program and darken the blue. Change the colors that you feel need changing.

Print another test print to see how the changes look. If you are happy with the changes, you can now print off a new CD label. If not, continue to adjust the color in the program.
