Instructions

    • 1

Fold the fleece in half lengthwise and match corners and edges. Measure 10 inches from one side edge, and cut the fleece from the raw edges to the folded edge to make one 10-inch-wide folded piece of fleece.

    • 2

Unfold the fleece and lay it flat. Cut a fringe along both short edges by making 2-inch-long cuts that are 1 inch apart.

    • 3

Fold the fleece in half lengthwise again with the right sides facing in.

    • 4

Create the hood by measuring 10 inches from the fold on one long edge; make a small mark at this point. Pin the fleece edges together between the fold and the mark.

    • 5

Sew between the fold and the mark using a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Remove the pins.

    • 6

Turn the hooded fleece scarf right side out and try it on.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sew a child's hooded fleece scarf by altering the measurements slightly. Make it shorter if you desire but keep the width the same. Instead of measuring 10 inches from the fold to make the hood, measure the head from the crown to the back of the neck and add 1/2 inch). All other instructions are the same.

  • Hemming fleece is unnecessary--the raw edges will not unravel or become unsightly.
