1
Loosen the two screws that secure the latch to the inside of the shower door with a Phillips-head screwdriver if your door uses a latch. If the latch is damaged, take it to a home improvement center to purchase a new latch. Install the latch on the door loosely with the retaining screws.

2
Go inside the shower and close the door. Wiggle the latch until it closes tightly on the other door panel. Tighten the latch securely with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

3
Remove the screws that secure the guide rail to the lower door track with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The guide rail sits on the outside of the bottom rail. Remove the guide rail from the bottom track.
-
4
Lift up on the shower door panels and maneuver the rollers out of the top track. Place the door panels on a flat surface.
-
5
Inspect the rollers on each door panel for corrosion or missing parts. Replace the door rollers with new rollers that are available at home improvement centers. Rollers attach to the door panels with single Phillips-head screws.

6
Look at the bottom sweep of each door panel. If the sweep appears worn, replace the sweep felt with new felt. The felt rides in a channel on the door sweep. Pull the felt out of the channel and slide new felt into the channel if you are replacing the felt. Some doors have an adjustable door sweep which you can lower if the felt is in good condition.

7
Inspect the track for bends. You can adjust minor bends by grasping the edge of the track at the bend with a pair of pliers. Bend the track back as best as possible with the pliers.
-
8
Wipe the upper door track and lower door track clean to remove soap scum and debris. Lift the door panels and maneuver the panels back into the top tracks. Push the bottom of each door panel into the bottom track. Inspect the sweep at the bottom and ensure that the sweep rides on the bottom of the track channel. Loosen the screws securing the sweep with a Phillips-head screwdriver to lower the sweep as necessary. Tighten the sweep after lowering.

9
Install the guide rail to the front of the bottom track using the retaining screws.
