How to Edit MP3 Summary Information

The summary information (artist and song name) is called the "tag" of an MP3 file. This information is physically stored on the MP3 file itself; so when you import the song into a program such as iTunes or WinAMP, this information will appear. You can edit the MP3 summary information using these programs, but it is not required. There is a simple way to edit MP3 summary information using nothing more than the MP3 file itself.

Instructions

1. Right-click on the MP3 file you want to edit.

2. Click "Properties."

3. Click the "Summary" tab.

4. Click the "Advanced" button. This will display a listing of all of the summary information categories you can edit.

5. Click on the empty white box next to the type of information you'd like to add. For example, if you want to add the artist's name, click the box next to "Artist" then type in the name. When you're done, click "OK" to save your changes.
