On the back end of the same charm is an open slot. Individual charms come in a vast variety of designs. It's easy to get carried away collecting them. You'll want to learn how to change out your various charms so you always have a bracelet that reflects your individual tastes and moods.

1
Hold the charm bracelet with the thumb and index finger of each hand. The thumbs are resting on the face of each charm. Pull two charms apart slightly. Feel the spring loaded action of the hooked end of the charm in the right hand.

2
Keeping the two charms pulled apart slightly, rotate the bracelet so the underside is facing up. Position the fingernail of the middle finger of the right hand in front of the hooked end of the charm. This will keep the hidden spring inside the charm locked in the outward expanded position. Imagine the hook is sticking out like a turtle's head sticking out of its shell.
