Instructions

    • 1

Grate 2 tsp. of ginseng into a bowl.

    • 2

Place green tea leaves into a cup. You may use teabags but the leaves in teabags, called tea dust, are inferior in quality because whole leaves have a longer steeping time and impart more flavor.

    • 3

Place grated ginseng into the teacup.

    • 4

Pour hot water into the cup. The optimal temperatures for tea water are between 140 degrees F and 185 degrees. You may remove the ginseng with a spoon after you steep the mixture for one to three minutes.

    • 5

Let the tea slightly cool and enjoy the drink.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pregnant and nursing women should not drink green tea because of the caffeine levels. They should also not drink or eat ginseng because, according to scientists from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the herb can cause fetal abnormalities.
