How to Get Lint Off of a Pea Coat

Pea coats are almost exclusively made out of wool and are usually either navy or black. As a result, lint clings to and shows up on these coats very easily. You can take steps to avoid getting lint on your pea coat, such as not visiting friends who own pets, but no matter how careful you are, chances are you'll have to remove lint from your pea coat at some point.

Things You'll Need

• Lint roller

Instructions

1. Peel the first layer of sticky paper off your lint roller. This layer often collects dust from the air and is not as useful as lower layers.

2. Roll the lint roller all over your pea coat until the outside sheet is covered with lint and no longer sticky.

3. Peel the outside sheet off your lint roller to reveal a new, clean, sticky sheet.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you have removed most of the lint from your pea coat.

Tips & Warnings

• If you don't have a lint roller, you can also use masking tape or duct tape in the same way. Cut off a piece, wrap it around your hand inside-out, and use it to remove the lint from your pea coat.

• To help reduce future lint on your pea coat, mist it lightly with Static Guard spray after you have removed as much lint as possible.
