How to Restring Beads on a Necklace
A beaded necklace can be a great accessory to have as a part of your wardrobe. Beaded necklaces are timeless jewelry pieces and happen to be very trendy today. If your beaded necklace snaps, or gets damaged, don't throw it away. You can restring the necklace by using the same beads and a few tools to make it look brand new. Get creative and consider adding on additional beads from other pieces of broken or damaged jewelry to make the necklace appear original. This will make the necklace look like high-end jewelry.

1
Disassemble the old necklace. Cut the wire on your old beaded necklace in order to remove the beads. Lay the beads from the necklace onto a towel or other fabric surface so the beads will not easily roll away.
-
2
Cut a new wire about 18 inches long.
-
-
3
Slide one crimp bead onto the wire. Next slide a jump ring onto the new wire directly behind the crimp bead. Loop the wire through the jump ring and continue looping the wire through the crimp bead. Be careful not to cross the wire. This could cause the wire to get twisted.

4
Crimp and close the first end of the necklace. Use the crimping pliers to crimp the crimp bead by pressing the pliers firmly together. Place a crimp bead cover over the crimp bead. Then use the crimping pliers to close the cover tightly.
-
5
Add the beads from the broken necklace. Start sliding the beads you have sitting on your work surface onto the wire next to the crimp bead one by one. Continue threading the beads onto the wire.
-
6
Add the clasp to the end. Repeat the procedures in Step 2, but use two crimp beads. Push the very end of the wire through two to three beads and then cut away the excess wire.
-
7
Using the crimping pliers, press the pliers onto the crimp bead cover firmly to securely close the cover. Pick up the Greek clasp and attach the clasp onto the jump ring.
-
8
Attach the Greek clasp to the other jump ring to connect both ends of the newly restrung necklace.
