How to Create a Glamorous Men's Suit

A man's suit can say a lot about his personality. Unlike women's fashion, the room for experimentation can be somewhat limited. There seems to be much less tolerance in a suit for the tacky. In the effort to bring superior dash and panache, you need to remember to steer clear of the outright tacky. This is not the age for sequins and rhinestones. 1. Select a suit with a synthetic material that highlights an unusual color. Many darker suits have a light purple highlight that can bring pop to a nightclub scene. The main thing to avoid is primary colors such as reds and yellows that can be overpowering. The nuance of color will get attention without seeming gauche.

2. Consider a throwback cut such as an old-fashioned zoot suit. The baggy fit and long angles of this type of suit recall the early jazz era and can serve as a conversation piece during a night out on the town. This shows that you have a sense of fun and adventure in your dress, and are not opposed to a bit of lightheartedness.

3. Add the right accessories to match the glamorous look you are striving for. A silk handkerchief tastefully monogrammed not only demonstrates your eye for details, it asserts an individualism that is lacking in much male fashion today.

4. Set off the suit with a bold hat. This does not mean it is time to bust out the pimp wear. Instead, find a nice hamburg, fedora or driver's cap that adds an extra dimension to the suit. Hats never truly go out of style, and they indicate the resurgence of male gentility on the social scene.

5. Finish off the outfit right with a pair of attractive and well-maintained pair of shoes. The choice of footwear is one of the first things that is noticed when you go out. A cheap or badly scuffed pair of shoes can torpedo your efforts at being snazzy as soon as you step out the door.
