Open word processing software that allows you to create simple documents with photos. Open a new blank document. Set the margins of the document to between 0.5 inches and 1 inch around all sides. Do not go below 0.5 inches or your document might not print correctly.

Add the essential information to your "Missing" sign. At the top of the sign write the word "Missing" in a very large font. It's best to use a sans-serif font such as Arial or Tahoma for this type of sign since they are very easy to read. Have the word "Missing" span the entire top of the page. Directly beneath the word "Missing," add a photograph of whatever is missing. This is extremely important if it is a missing person or pet.
Following the photo, you want to add important details that will clearly define what you are missing. If it is a person or pet, identify name, hair color, height, weight, and other distinguishing characteristics. You want to list every distinguishing characteristic that could help determine if someone has discovered your missing person, pet, or item.
Always add a phone number to your sign. Additionally you could also choose to include an email address. Just make sure you give people a way to contact you.
