Things You'll Need
- Vacuum with hand attachments
- New Beginning Extra-Strength Floor Stripper
- Once 'n Done Resilient and Ceramic Floor Cleaner
- White cloth
- Floor protectors
- Bucket, mop and water as needed
Instructions
-
After Installation
-
1
Do not use the vinyl floor for 8 hours after its installation. Pressure from walking across the floor can pull seams apart and cause permanent damage.
-
2
Do not scrub or apply water to the vinyl flooring for 5 days after its installation to allow the adhesive to dry completely.
-
-
3
Keep the room temperature at a steady 65 degrees F during the installation and for 2 days afterward. Temperature can affect the curing and bonding process.
Regular Maintenance
-
4
Place entry mats at doors and openings that may lead to outdoor areas. These mats catch dirt before it gets tracked across the vinyl flooring, protecting the vinyl. Place the mats outside the room and not on the vinyl flooring; some backing found on entry mats contains chemicals that can permanently stain vinyl flooring.
-
5
Wipe up spills immediately. Removing dried spills by scrapping can scratch and mark the vinyl. Armstrong recommends using New Beginning Extra-Strength Floor Stripper and a white cloth for getting up dried spills.
-
6
Vacuum weekly with hand attachments to reach dirt and debris in corners and under cabinets. Vacuuming with a machine using beater bars can damage vinyl flooring as they roll across the surface.
-
7
Clean the floor weekly with Armstrong's formulated no-rinse cleaner---Once 'n Done Resilient and Ceramic Floor Cleaner---or an equivalent. Apply the product per label directions.

Tips & Warnings
Add Armstrong floor protectors to furniture to reduce the weight placed on the vinyl. Heavy furniture can indent the flooring leaving permanent marks.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products and detergents that leave the vinyl dull. Mop-and-shine type products leave a film on vinyl and should not be used. Use Armstrong recommended products.
Scrubbing tools, furniture casters and the act of dragging furniture and items across the vinyl flooring can gouge and cut the floor material.
Fabric dye can bleed and stain vinyl. Use white cloths to clean vinyl floors.
