How to Format a Word Booklet

Microsoft (MS) Word contains a feature that allows you to put your documents into a book-like format, using a regular 8.5 x 11-inch sheet of paper. Once printed, these sheets can then be bound together with staples or glue. Your document must have more than two pages for this feature to work. The edition of MS Word that you have doesn't matter, as these instructions work in all versions.

Select the 'Manual Duplex' box. You'll need to remain with the computer and printer, following the prompts on the screen during printing.

Select your page range for printing or leave it blank to print all pages.

    • 10

Click 'Print' when you are ready to print.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also include a special margin (called a gutter) if you need extra space. Set this margin when you set the Inside and Outside margins for the page.

  • If you have a duplex printer, you can set the printer options to take advantage of this. Consult your printer's manual for the proper instructions.
