How to Make Denture Cleaner

There are many denture cleaners available in stores, they range from drop in cleansing tablets to ultrasonic denture cleaners. The price also ranges from expensive to very expensive. You really don't have to buy a cleaner specifically made to clean dentures. Too many commercials and advertisements may have you thinking you do, but that is not true. You can make your own denture cleaner which will both clean and sanitize your partial dentures or full dentures.

Instructions

1. In a lidded glass jar, add 1 cup of cheap vodka, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 6 to 8 drops of peppermint essential oil. Peppermint essential oil is available at health food stores, natural pharmacies and online.

2. Place the lid on the jar and shake vigorously to mix the ingredients thoroughly. Be sure to clearly label the jar with all of the ingredients. Keep the denture cleaner out of reach of children and away from pets.

3. Place your dental dentures in a bowl or cup, pour the mixture over the full dentures or partial dentures and allow them to soak for at least 1 hour. Soaking them overnight is best. remove your dentures from the denture cleaning solution, brush with a soft bristled tooth brush, and rinse with plain water.
