How to Make a Pomander Ball
This is a quick and easy gift idea.
Things You'll Need
- Styrofoam Balls
- Glues
- Cotton Swabs
- Fragrant Essential Oils
- Serrated Knives
- Small Plastic Picnic Plates
- metallic, gold-mesh wired ribbons

Pour a good-sized puddle of white craft glue onto a small plastic picnic plate.

Carve a hole 1 inch wide and 1 inch deep into a 3-inch Styrofoam ball.

Dip each end of a 6-inch, gold-colored, wired metallic cord into the glue and push the ends into opposite sides of the hole.

Dip the stems of about 100 miniature silk rosebuds into the glue and stick them into the ball, covering it completely with flowers.

Tie a bow of 1-inch, gold-mesh, wired metallic ribbon and glue it to the top of the pomander, near the hanging loop.

Soak a cotton ball in essential oil and drop it into the hole at the top of the ball.

Tips & Warnings
Try not to get the oil on the silk roses.
Styrofoam is easiest to cut with a serrated steak knife.
You can use a hot glue gun, but be careful not to melt the foam.
Make legs from toothpicks to hold the ball up off the work surface as you add flowers. This step will keep the flowers from getting crushed.
