How to Program a Chamberlain Garage Door
Opening the Chamberlain garage door opener from your car is convenient way to access your garage from the safety and comfort of your car in inclement weather. There are times when remote controls are lost or they just no longer function. You can replace the remote controls with universal remotes available at home improvement centers. Chamberlain With Dip Switch

Set a stepladder under the Chamberlain garage door motor head so that you can reach the back of the motor head.

Remove the single screw in the middle of the remote control with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Take the back off the remote control unit and remove the battery.

Locate the dip switches on the back of the opener. The nine-pin dip switch will be just above the limit adjustment screws on the upper left of the opener. The dip switch is a row of nine separate switches.

Match all nine dip switch locations on the remote control with the dip switch on the opener. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to move the individual switches up or down.

Install the battery in the remote control. Place the cover back on the remote control and secure the cover with the retaining screw. Operate the garage door opener with your remote control.
Chamberlain With "Learn" Button

Locate the "Learn" button on the back of the Chamberlain opener. The button will be close to the limit adjustment screws and next to a small LED light.

Press the "Learn" button with your finger until the LED light glows. Press the remote control button and hold the button down until the LED light begins to blink.

Operate the garage door opener with the remote control.
