The elevation of an address refers to its height above sea level, or how high above sea level the address is elevated. Elevation is sometimes researched out of curiosity, or to determine a home's expected flood level. A higher elevation means the address is less likely to be susceptible to flooding, which is a bonus for home buyers. With modern technology, and easy access to the Internet, you can easily find the elevation of any address within seconds. All that you need is the address of the location.

Open a new Internet browser, and visit the GPSies.com website.

Enter all address information that you have in the box on the "Find Coordinates" screen. Include street address and city/state combination or zip code. Click the "Search" button.

View the white box that displays to the left of the search box. This will show the search results, including elevation, latitude and longitude. Elevation will be displayed in measurements of feet.
