How to Check If a Hardware Firewall Is Installed
A firewall is like a bouncer that stands between your computer and the Internet. It prevents malicious programs from attacking your computer. A hardware firewall can be purchased alone, but more often, they are built into routers. These firewalls are effective and need little or no configuration. There are also software firewalls, such as Windows Firewall, that you can configure from your desktop. To figure out if you have a hardware firewall in place, you need to test your computer.
